CAPT. LEE CORNWELL III / 9-10-71

I was given his POW/MIA bracelet when I was 10 years old. I often prayed for him and wore the bracelet for years. Until getting on this website, I thought I was the only one who had his bracelet. I found it recently with my childhood jewelry and researched his name. I'm very sad to learn of his death, but grateful for the details of his assignment, his remains being found, and photos of him. I'm grateful for his sacrifice and service.

POW/MIA bracelet

I wore Cptn Lee Cornwell III POW/MIA bracelet from..1974 (while in college) until it broke. My mom was upset that i wouldnt remove it for my brothers wedding in 1976, i was a bridesmaid & it showed on my wrist, wearing a short sleeved gown. I never knew what happened until i searched today. Sad that he & so many others died, or were POW/MIAs.

Never Forgetting

I am the wife of a VietNam Veteran and was thrilled when my husband came home. I received Lee's bracelet while Neil was in Nam and wore it every day. Our 10 year old grandson his now asking for stories about his grandpas service and wanted all of his medals to put into a frame. I found my bracelet and gave it to him, along with information of Capt Cornwell which he added to his grandpas items. I am proud to be the wife of a Viet Nam Veteran and proud of all our "boys" that went and came home and have deep sympathy for the families of our soldiers never came home.
Captain Cornwell - rest in piece.

honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from fellow aviator Michael Connolly is poignant. As long as you are remembered you will remain in our hearts forever
