Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from your wife Jean is especially poignant. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us...

Eddie Cormier

Eddie and I was in Boot camp and AIT together and then from Chicago we flew to Ft Lewis, WA then to Vietnam. That was the last I saw Eddie, U did’t find out that he fatally wounded until many years later when I didn’t hear from him I saw his name on the wall, I never cried so hard since I have been back from Nam. I always thought of Eddie as my brother and always will.

Never Forgotten

Dear PFC Edward Cormier,

I ran into a post on facebook from a group called "Que Son Valley Contractors" this morning, and that's how I know about you and why I am here. I would like to say thankyou for your service and sacrifice. I'm sorry you guys have to go through war and died at a very young age in a country you don't even know of. I'm sorry to all the families that have lost their sons and daughters because of war. It makes me sad every year when Memorial comes to think about all the fallen soldiers. War is evil, and because of those greedy dictators that innocent people died because of them. I hope you could read what your family, friends and fans wrote for you here. May your soul rest eternal peace. Sincere condolences to your family and friends.

So long ago

It is over 50 years now and yet you still continue to live on in the hearts and memories of family and friends. My youngest granddaughter has a project for school about a person from Barre. I do not need to open the memory album to give her info, it is all still fresh in my mind. However, all three granddaughters want to see it, so out it comes. I bring my oldest granddaughter to fish at your bridge. I can still see you and dad fishing, I think she feels special that I share it with her. She was 2 at the time of the bridge dedication. You still own my heart and I still miss you everyday my sweet prince.
