do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

childhood friend
I knew him as BUDDY a nickname he had picked up he went to school in ADAMS tn and I went to CEDAR HILL school just a few miles down the road.BUDDY played baseball for ADAMS I played for CEDAR HILL he was the pitcher and at 12 he was around 6 ft a sidearmed thrower and you could bet two or three would be hit by BUDDYs fastball and I got plucked many times.We played against each other for two years best I can remember and then high school, I was working and living in INDIANAPOLIS when I got word from back home that BUDDY had been killed in VIETNAM and I thought about those days of playing ball against each other and I said a prayer for BUDDY and his family,I pass that baseball field sometimes and I see the kids playing as we did so many years ago and if I look long enough I can still see BUDDY winding up to throw one and something tells me he is still pitching in heaven, may he RIP.

Gone but not Forgotten
Buddy was a special cousin to me. We spent many hours playing together in our younger years. I have often wondered what life would be like with him still in it. He was one of the best.
