Im his great nephew...

I am Andrew Valdez, I am Donald's great nephew. Im in high school now and I got curious if he was on google so I looked up His name and found this website. Its sad to know he was killed by a booby trap. I understand that he was a brave, selfless person who was always there and loved to help others. His sister Debbi is my grandma and she lives in Idaho, and we all will remember him forever.

My neighbor in Carmichael, California

Dear Donny. I was best friends with your sister, Debi. We lived one block away from your family, on Merrimac (your home was on Monitor). Because you were eight years older than I was, we were not close, but every time I was at your home, I saw your pictures. I remember how proud your mom and dad and inter were of you. I prayed for you all the time. And I'll never forget you. I am 60 years old now, and I'm closer to heaven every day. I'm looking forward to seeing you again. As you can imagine, the pain your family suffered was immense. I'll never forget that either. Thank you for giving your life for mine. You are my hero.
