I served with Donnie on the Marine Detachment aboard the USS Oriskany and knew him well. We shared duties and he was a friend to all. Semper Fi Marine!

Ground Casualty
LCPL Donnie R. Conner was a rifleman whose Marine detachment was assigned to the USS Oriskany. While serving on that ship, LCPL Conner came down with pneumonia. He was transferred to a military hospital in Saigon where he succumbed to his illness on February 14, 1973. He was 19 years-old. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
