Biography
Donald Thomas Howland served two tours of duty with the Army in Vietnam from August 1962 to March 1964 and from January 1970 to December 1970. A POW, he missed the birth of his first son before he was able to escape. In 1979, Donald retired from the Army. He died on February 10, 1993 from a massive heart attack believed to be caused by exposure to Agent Orange which weakened his heart. "Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room."
