Thomas Edward Dowler
Thomas Edward Dowler was born in Ravenna, Ohio on June 5, 1947. He enlisted in the Army on January 18, 1967 and was honorably discharged on August 21, 1969. He served in Vietnam in the 180th AVN CO for two tours. He was an AIRFRAME REPM. He was honorably discharged After returning home, he worked for the Ohio Bell Telephone Company. After taking an early retirement, he enrolled at Kent State University (KSU) and earned a BA in Business Administration. He then began a second career as a Facilities Engineer at ALTEL. In 2001, Tom suffered a heart attack that lead to a double by-pass. One year later, he suffered a debilitating stroke. His health continued to deteriorate as years passed, as he suffered from continued heart issues, Diabetes and Prostate Cancer all related to his exposure to Agent Orange. He died on March 26, 2020, two months before his 73rd birthday. He was laid to rest in the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Stephanie, two children from a previous marriage and six grandchildren.
