Biography

Ronald L. Brown (12/11/1944-12/20/2020) of Lowell, Michigan, left his friends, family, and military brothers far too soon after a valiant battle with Covid-19. He fought for life the way he was trained, fearlessly and honorably. Ron was a dear father to Cheyenne A. Brown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who was by his side throughout life and until the end. Born in San Diego, California, Ron served in the Marine Corps in Delta Company, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division during the Vietnam War. He was a Purple Heart recipient for injuries received in combat. He made a successful life for himself after the war as a machinist. He will be remembered as a jar head, hard-worker, loyal friend, die hard OSU and Lowell High School football fan, and the best father (and human being) in the world. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Brown and Georgeann (Hartman) Brown, and his son, Jason Tolman Brown. There will be no public visitation or funeral. Ron will be buried at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, California in a private ceremony, celebrating his life, public service, and legacy. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Wounded Warrior Project and carrying on Ron’s legacy by treating others the way you want to be treated and enjoying a Jamocha shake in his honor.
