Cloyd Martin Chaney
Cloyd M Chaney was born on February 16, 1942 (his father's birthday) in Cumberland, Maryland. He quit school in the ninth grade, but earned his GED while in the Army. He worked in his father's moving business before going into the service. He was drafted into the Army in 1964 and was assigned to C BATTERY 2ND H OW BN 13th ARTH. After leaving the Anny he and his father became Agents for Greyhound Moving and Storage. Later he worked for Crites Transfer delivering mail from Cumberland to Terra Alta, WV and Washington DC. When he was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma he became a collector of elephants (figurines) He traveled many places, adding to his collection until he ran out of space in his house. Cloyd was a kind, generous man who was always ready to help either financially or in any other way. He was a quiet man with a witty sense of humor. He passed away May 5th, 2019 after battling many health problems. He is missed very much and always will be.
