Servant’s Heart

I didn’t know Larry very well but he was married to my favorite cousin. I know of him through her. He was a fine man who loved Jesus, his family, and his country. He spent his retirement helping widows, including my mom, with odd jobs around their house. I have no doubt his crown in heaven is full of stars.

Pearl Habor Base restaurant. Larry and I on a mail run 1967

Each Day Larry would say lets go get the mail. We would get into the Ships Jeep and go to the Post Office then our next stop was the NAVY EXCHANGE restaurant where we both each day got a BLT. They made the best on the Island. Larry and I would spend a good hour talking about Home and those we loved and missed. I loved that guy and miss him so. So glad we connected again and were texting each other right up to the time he went in the Hospital and Agent Orange took him Home. RIP PN2 Larry Cleaves, Chief Russ Waddell
