Biography

Ronald Jerry Dean, born September 7, 1946, in Newnan Georgia, was the youngest of nine. Ronald was a Marine Corps, Viet Nam veteran. During his service he received several medals including the Navy Achievement with Combat V and the Purple Heart for wounds he received at the Battle of Dai Do. After serving he returned to Georgia but eventually moved to Virginia where he lived for over 40 years. In addition to his brothers and sisters, he was blessed with a son, daughter-in-law, step-daughter, 7 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He loved his family, friends, and Marine Corps brothers. When able, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, signing karaoke, watching football, and being with those he loved. Ron worked for Richfood, a grocery warehouse, in facilities maintenance, doing a variety of trades, carpenter, electrician, locksmith, sheet rock work, etc. until his health forced him to leave on disability. Like many Viet Nam veterans, he suffered with PTSD, diabetes, COPD, heart disease, liver disease and a long list of complications from these diseases. He fought the fight until April 19, 2018. We miss him every day and appreciate all that he provided for us.
