Walter "Skip" Antczak was born on May 19, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the Marine Corp in 1963, having proudly served in Vietnam. He was also proud to be a civil servant throughout his lifetime, as a Trustee for the Village of Round Lake Beach, IL, Round Lake Area school board member, Vice-President of the Round Lake Area Jaycees, member of the Moose lodge, American Legion and VFW, Charter member of the Joint Action Water Agency, co-organizer of the Round Lake "Save the Lake" program and helped spearhead the Round Lake Jayteens. On July 17, 1965 he married Sandra Bulat and they went on to have 2 sons, Mykal and David, and 6 grandchildren, Taylor, Caitlin, Austin, Brenna, Mateo and Emma. He enjoyed golfing, dancing, collecting coins, stamps, and gardening. But his real passion was fishing, especially bass and walleye. He enjoyed life to the fullest with his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends, He left many, many happy memories with his family and so many friends. He shared 42 years of happy marriage with Sandra, until he passed away on December 28, 2007 from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma due to exposure from Agent Orange during his service in Vietnam. He is greatly loved and missed.
