Robert John Chastek
Robert John Chastek served in Vietnam as a crew chief and door gunner with the Army's "Flying Dragons" from August 1970 to August 1971. During this time he was awarded a Bronze Air Medal for heroism while flying a rescue mission in Dak To. Bob never got over his experiences in Vietnam and for 19 years he suffered from nightmares and other symptoms of PTSD. On January 27, 1990, at the age of 39, Bob took his own life. He was a loving and caring person whose smile could light up a room.

Thanks for the memories!
