Keith Blackman
Keith Thomas Blackman
Keith was a musician he loved and played music all of his life. At the age of eighteen he had signed a five-year recording contract with Gemini Records. The contract was voided when they found out he was being drafted. He was in the Navy and served aboard the Navy Destroyer USS Edson DD9 during Vietnam War. The ship was named the Top Gun because of fire- fights they were in. It is now a historic ship and floating museum. He was with the City of Yuma Fire Department and Crash Crew at the Marine Base. He became a parametric. He was with the Fire Department until health and personal reasons forced him to leave. Keith was an action man and loved being in the middle of things. When health problems stop him from being a participant, he found a love for photography. He became a professional photographer. He had photos in sports magazines and web sites. Most of all he was a husband, father, and friend, he loved and cared very deeply for us. Keith had passion for life; he never stopped trying to improve his self. Keith was one of a kind I miss his love, strength, friendship, and compassion.
