I was lucky to have a last name beginning with "Hei" and so it was that I became Dennis' roommate for Officer Candidate School. He was always eager for each days' training and always had a positive attitude. Because of what we were training for it was our instructor's daily mission to see how they could break us, mentally or physically. I would gain strength from Dennis' composure and would model my efforts against his. Those intense months of training were eased by having him as a roommate and more importantly, a friend. Dennis, my thoughts have often been of you and whenever in DC I try to stop at The Wall and think of you and Earnie Hardimon. God Bless you.
