My friend Bruce
Posted for: BRUCE DAVID KLINGAMAN:
My name is Bill Booth. Bruce lived across the street from me on Grier Avenue, Elizabeth, N.J. He was a very good friend and confidant. In March of 70 I was processing out of the 3/73 field artillery unit in Ft. Irwin, California when I recieved a call from my Batallion Commander that Bruce had been killed in Viet Nam. My heart went into my stomach as it is today while writing this message. I was given the opportunity to accompany Bruce's body back to Elizabeth but declined because My wife had recently given birth to my son (who is now 30)and didn't want me to go back home without her. I guess I thought at the time that "life goes on." To this day I regret not taking my friend Bruce back home because I now know "death lives longer than life." Bruce was a great friend. I would also like to say Hi to Glen, Ken and Bruce's sister Bunny whom I haven't seen for about thirty years. I miss you all but most of all Bruce.
