CAPTAIN DAVID CARLTON BROWN WAS A DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY ACADEMY AT WEST POINT, NEW YORK IN THE CLASS OF 1966 WHO MET HIS UNTIMELY DEATH AT THE YOUNG AGE OF ONLY 24 ON 9-7-1968 WHILE SERVING AS A PLATOON LEADER AND COMPANY COMMANDER OF THE 503RD INFANTRY REGIMENT " THE ROCK " 173RD AIRBORNE BRIGADE " SKY SOLDIERS " AND SERVED AS AIDE-DE-CAMP TO THE CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE 1ST FIELD FORCE WHO WAS THE RECIPIENT OF THE FOLLOWING MILITARY DECORATIONS AND SERVICE MEDALS - THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL with two 'V' for 'VALOR' devices THE BRONZE STAR MEDAL with OAK LEAF CLUSTER THE AIR MEDAL THE ARMY COMMENDATION MEDAL THE PURPLE HEART MEDAL with OAK LEAF CLUSTER NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL VIETNAM SERVICE MEDAL REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM CAMPAIGN SERVICE MEDAL IN ADDITION HE WAS ENTITLED TO WEAR THE COMBAT INFANTRYMAN BADGE ABOVE HIS MILITARY RIBBONS ~~~ DUTY - HONOR - COUNTRY ~~~ ~~~ THE LONG GRAY LINE ~~~ YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN NOR SHALL YOU EVER BE R E M E M B R A N C E 12 NOVEMBER 2006 |
