Remembering Buddy

Spec. 5 Lloyd Earle Greene, Jr., better known as “Buddy, Jr ” was born on May 27, 1948 in Fairmont, WV. He was the son of Lloyd E. Greene and Bevelyn Fluharty Greene.
Buddy, Jr. graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1966. He played football and basketball. He loved boating and water skiing.
Buddy, Jr. was a caller for the B & O Railroad at the time he was drafted into the US Army. He had married his high school sweetheart, Louella Summers in 1967. They did not have children.
After completing basic training at fort Bragg, NC, he was sent to Fort Eustis, VA. While there he completed a course in helicopter mechanical training.
In July 1968 he was sent to Vietnam. On September 19, 2968 while on a reconnaissance mission as crew chief, his helicopter crashed and burned. The was in the providence of Ban Me Thout.
At the time of his death, he had an older brother, Sgt. Danny E. Greene, serving with the US Marines and a younger brother, Jeffrey A. Greene, with the US Navy.
Also surviving, were two sisters, Maureen and Donna, and twins Larry and Terry.
