PENNSYLVANIA CALL FOR PHOTOS
|
Help VVMF and HISTORY® Honor Service Members From Pennsylvania Who Are Memorialized on The Wall
VVMF and HISTORY ask you to honor individuals from Pennsylvania whose names are inscribed on The Wall by submitting a photo. The following describes how you can locate photographs and submit them to the VVMF.
Click here to view the roster of names from Pennsylvania State. We are missing photos of all service members on this list and would like your help to research and locate these photos.
Historical research will enable you to find photographs and important contact information for next-of-kin. You can utilize www.vvmf.org, www.virtualwall.org, www.thewall-usa.com, as well as unit websites to find information about service members and to gather phone numbers, home and e-mail addresses from remembrances left by family, friends, and fellow veterans. You can make phone calls, send letters, and write e-mails requesting photographs or further information. You can also visit local libraries to search for high school yearbooks and archives, which may contain newspaper obituaries with photographs.
Once you have collected a photograph of a name on the roster, scan it into an electronic format – either a .jpg or .gif file. It should be scanned at the highest quality setting possible. Then, follow the instructions below to submit the photo.
Instructions:
1. Name the photo file that you are uploading using this format: “LastName_FirstName.jpg”
2. Click on the “Browse…” icon to select and upload your photo.
3. In the Description field, please type out as much information you have, including:
a. The service member’s first and last name
b. City and state of home-of-record (where the person enlisted)
4. Enter your email address so that we can email you a confirmation.
5. Click on the “Upload” icon to submit your photo.
