Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund Chooses USAA as Provider of Choice
Group signs 5-year agreement allowing USAA to offer full suite of financial products
SAN ANTONIO – The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) recently named USAA as its provider of choice allowing the financial services association to offer VVMF’s eligible members and supporters access to USAA’s full suite of financial products, including co-branded credit cards from American Express® and MasterCard® designed specifically for VVMF.
In addition to the credit card offer, the 5-year agreement includes all of USAA’s banking, investment and insurance products for eligible members and gives VVMF an opportunity to raise funds through new account acquisitions and qualifying credit card transactions.
“I’m thrilled that we are able to make this connection between two great groups whose missions are so similar,” said Jan Scruggs, founder and president of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Fund and former Army corporal. “When I started the effort in 1979 to find a tangible place where we could honor the men and women who served in the Vietnam War, I had no idea we would be where we are today. I’m thankful USAA sees the value of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.”
“VVMF’s mission is to preserve, honor and educate. The funds generated through this USAA partnership will support numerous VVMF initiatives including annual ceremonies at The Wall as well as The Wall That Heals, our mobile Memorial and museum. These programs not only honor the sacrifices of our service members and their families but also educate future generations on the impact of the Vietnam War. We couldn’t be more pleased to have USAA as a partner in this effort,” said Jim Knotts, CEO of VVMF.
“The work of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is phenomenal and USAA couldn’t be more proud to enter into this relationship with them,” said Nathan McKinley, vice president at USAA and in charge of the association’s military affinity group. “My dad proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam war and I hope the plans the VVMF have are able to come to fruition.”

About VVMF and the Education Center at The Wall
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) is the nonprofit organization that built the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (The Wall) in Washington, D.C. in 1982. VVMF is dedicated to preserving the legacy of The Wall, promoting healing and educating future generations about the impact of the Vietnam War through programs, ceremonies and education. Three decades later, the mission continues as VVMF raises funds to build the Education Center at The Wall. The Center will be an interactive learning facility on the National Mall where our military heroes' stories and sacrifice will never be forgotten. The Education Center will feature the faces and stories of the more than 58,000 men and women on The Wall and honor America's Legacy of Service, including those serving in our nation's Armed Forces today.
