February 8— VVMF Founder and President Jan Scruggs Remembers Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.)
Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) died today at age 77. Murtha was a long-time supporter of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, both when The Wall was built and recently, providing assistance for Project RENEW.

Former Maryland Senator Charles Mathias died yesterday at age 87. Among his many achievements in the U.S. Senate was the passage of the bill authorizing the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to be built on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

January 13 — VVMF Dedicates Renovated Primary School in Vietnam
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) will dedicate a newly renovated and expanded primary school in Trieu An Commune tomorrow as part of a week-long delegation by American veterans to Vietnam.

January 12 — Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue Joins Leadership Team for the Education Center at The Wall
Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue has joined the leadership team for the campaign to build the Education Center at The Wall, pledging to create support for the Center and help collect photos of the 1,582 Georgians whose names are on The Wall in Washington, D.C.

January 11 — Education Center at The Wall Receives $1.4 Million in Donations
The Education Center at The Wall has received five donations totaling $1.4 million. The gifts, pledged over the last two months, follow the largest individual donation the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) has ever received — $2.5 million pledged by the Heisley Family Foundation in September.
