    VVMF to Honor Sacrifice and Pay Tribute to Medal of Honor Recipients at Memorial Day Ceremony at The Wall

    The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) and the National Park Service (NPS) will host the annual Memorial Day ceremony to pay tribute to members of America’s armed forces who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Nearly a dozen Medal of Honor recipients are expected in attendance as the United States Postal Service (USPS) will dedicate the 2015 Medal of Honor: Vietnam Forever® stamps as part of the ceremony. The event will be held at The Wall on Monday, May 25, at 1:00 p.m. and is free and open to the public. MORE

    Rear Admiral Thomas Lynch Elected to Board of Directors

    Rear Admiral Thomas C. Lynch, USN retired, has been elected to the Board of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF). Currently, he is Executive Chairman of NewDay USA and co-chairs the firm’s Foundation. Admiral Lynch served in the U.S. Navy for 31 years, commanding the Eisenhower Battle Group during Operation Desert Shield. A former U.S. Naval Academy Superintendent and 1964 graduate, he was selected as a Distinguished Graduate in 2010. MORE

    Ceremony on Mother's Day Will Honor Seven Name Additions, Five Status Changes

    The names of seven American service members will be engraved on the black granite walls of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and the status designations will be changed for five others whose names are already on The Wall. These changes will bring the total number of names on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to 58,307 men and women who were killed or who remain missing in action. MORE

    11th Grader Sean Quinn Announced As Winner of 2015 Memorial Day Student Video Contest

    Sean Quinn, an 11th grader at Guilderland High School, has been announced as this year's Memorial Day Student Video Contest Winner. He answered the question, "What does honor in times of war look like?" The decision comes after a public vote across VVMF's social media platforms, ending on May 4, 2015. As winner of the contest, Sean will be flown to Washington, D.C. to participate in VVMF's Memorial Day Ceremony at The Wall. MORE
