Ceremonies at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial

Each year, the Memorial Fund holds several ceremonies and special events at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to help carry out its mission of honor and healing.

Christmas Tree at The Wall
Monday, December 21, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.

A few days before Christmas each year, VVMF staff and volunteers decorate a Christmas Tree at the apex of The Wall. The tree is decorated with thousands of cards sent to the VVMF each December in honor of all America's service members – past and present – and their families.

Please help the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund
Honor our nation's veterans and their families
By making Christmas ornaments
For those who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War
And, for those currently serving overseas.

In order to have your ornaments or cards placed at The Wall, please send them no later than Wednesday, December 16 to VVMF at 1023 15th Street, N.W., Second Floor, Washington, DC 20005, attention: Christmas Tree at The Wall.

In Memory Day

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund's In Memory program honors those who died as a result of the Vietnam War, but whose deaths do not fit the Department of Defense criteria for inclusion upon the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Every year there is a ceremony to pay tribute to these men and women who sacrificed so much for their country. The ceremony is held on the third Monday in April — In Memory Day.

All application materials must be received by February 5 to be considered for In Memory Day 2009.
