Hawaii Call for Photos

Help VVMF Honor the 276 Hawaiian Service-Members Memorialized on the Vietnam Wall

Bernarnd P. Hoopii, Jr.

Kaneohe, HI

Sgt. Hoopii was a low key yet affable man. Easy to talk to and uncomplaining.  He served like so many of our Hawaiian men, who had a way about them that made us a cohesive unit - as if we were all family.   He was an unpretentious man who did his duty without drama.  I am sorry that he did not make it back to the Hawaii he loved.  — William J. Specht

The National Call for Photos is a campaign to collect a photograph for each of the more than 58,000 men and women whose names are inscribed on The Wall.  Collected pictures will be used in the Education Center at The Wall and can also be found on The Virtual Wall.  (Visit www.buildthecenter.org to learn more about the Education Center and the proposed Wall of Faces exhibit.)
