I skydived with Sam PCA licensed #C-3084 on Sicily Drop Zone on Aug.20 1966 and he was a good friend and a good man and outstanding solider on Smoke Bomb Hill in one of the SF Groups.I just went to the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall and found his name on panel 23E line 55. The wall was in Cave City KY. and after all these years I still miss Sam."RIP Brother"

I've been in touch with Sam's daughters, Carolyn and Rebecca, for a couple of years and have gotten to know Rebecca well. Due to circumstances, I cannot divulge her information, but she would truly appreciate anything that pertains to the father she lost so long ago. You can contact me at RebecaJohnston15@gmail.com and I will pass the information on to Rebecca so that she can contact you. This means the world. Thank you!

(We have adopted each other as sisters, but I am not a blood relative of Sam's. He just resides in my heart.

Dear Sam, what started out as a mission to find your photo has led me to obtain photos of you, but best of all, to meet your daughters. We correspond frequently, sharing information. I have now met the daughters of MSG Robert Sullivan and then SSG Harry Brown. Together, we have become "SOG Sisters". (I have unofficially adopted myself to you.) We plan to meet at The Wall for Memorial Day. We will NEVER give up hope of finding you. You are definitely not forgotten.

The Wall of Faces

Brought to you by the organization that built The Wall, the Vietnam Veterans Virtual Memorial Wall is dedicated to honoring, remembering and sharing the legacies of all those who died in the Vietnam War. Here you can go beyond the names on The Wall to see the faces, share the stories and read the remembrances posted by friends, neighbors, classmates and family members.

All of these photos will be showcased in The Education Center at The Wall on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. To learn more about the effort to collect these photos and ensure their faces will never be forgotten, visit www.buildthecenter.org.
