Leave a Remembrance

  • Still honoring your service.

I bought a copper POW/MIA copper bracelet at the Iowa State Fair in 1970 with Capt. Wortham's name and wore it for at least 7-8 years. I was lucky enough to find his goddaughter, probably on this site, and send it to her. I have lost track of her. I think she is a professional photographer. Just wasted to say I still remember how much it meant to me as a 12-yr. old, and I still honor his name and service. Thank you to all who served and their families.

I wore the POW/MIA bracelet with Capt Murray Wortham's name and missing date on it for 4 years, hoping that one day he would came home. I think of him often, I still have the bracelet........

  • Hero taught about in school lessons

Posted on 4/12/16 - by Liz
This is Ben Frank's wife writing. We held on to your magazine article from many years ago. We taught our sons about Murray, and I used it over and over while teaching, as a reference to a real hero. Murray is remembered by many. I am a retired educator now after 40 years teaching, but still frequently tell people about Murray. Happened to see the gentleman's note here about dog tags, and hope you reached the gentleman with that note. Forever grateful for Murray and his love of country, and for your devotion to his search. May God bless you.
  • Dog Tags

Found in a storage unit once owned by Tom McGourin Jr. I found a pair of Dog Tags belonging to Murray L Wortham. If there is any chance that the dog tags belong to this individual I would very much like to get them back to any family members who want them.
