  • Remembering John

Posted on 6/23/15 - by Tim Sullivan tpjgsully@yahoo.com
John and I were in grade school together. Nativity in El Monte.I remember John was at Ft. Lewis seems like quite a while before shipping out. I was already back from Vietnam, stationed in Texas when i got word about Johns death. Quite a shock . I had already lost a few classmates over there and i wondered how many more. John was a good guy , one of the few you wouldn't mind taking out your sister. I knew his mom, a real nice lady , i feel bad for what she must have gone through. Bless you John I know your in a better place>

  • Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT John Roger Thielen, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

    Curt Carter
