  • Dear Brother

In August 1967, we learned of your Home Going, our lives in Elaine, AR. Changed. It took the entire town by storm and destroyed the lives of your immediate family by measures that will never be understood. While placing this remembrances In Your Honor, I’m reminded of our mother who experienced life changing, it still remains with her today. I was only twelve to be thirteen the next January, seems as if it was yesterday. I watched Official of the ARM Force as they drove back and forth on Highway 44 near our home, finally they stopped and made initial contact with me, not understanding I knew something was seriously wrong. Mother is 94, she has stood the test of times. You would be so proud of her as we are you. You gave your life for us and the entire country, many people do not wear such an Honorable Award. I’m certain your father Leroy, Sr. brothers Leroy, Jr. , LT, Ray and your sister Dorothy are rejoicing with you. Rest in Peace my dear brother until we meet again.

Dear SGT Edward Lee Bobo, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

    Curt Carter
