  • Do not stand at my grave and weep

Posted on 6/17/05 - by Bob Ross
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

    Mary Frye – 1932

Billy, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well my friend, and thank you for protecting the freedoms we have today.

    Dear Billy,
My name is Katie, and I’m part of the Gridley High School Posting Project, which consists of posting remembrances for all of you who fought in the war. Our goal is to post a remembrance for everyone on here. You will always be remembered for everything you have done for this country. You gave up so much for this country; you fought your hardest, and gave it your all. Just for that you will always be remembered.
    Sincerely,
    Katie
