Dear CPL Eddie Jack Padilla, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

    With respect, Sir

    Curt Carter

  • The Greatest Man I Never Met

Posted on 8/27/14 - by Anthony Nicastro
Eddie Padilla died before he ever became my father in law. Yet when I slipped that ring on his daughter's left hand nearly 20 years to the day of his death, I accepted him as a part of my family. Eddie gave his life defending democracy and opposing communism, at that time a perceived threat to our way of life. It is those men and women like my father in law that make it possible for Americans and many South East Asians to live free. Eddie, you can rest well. I love your daughter and gransons. I do my best every day to care for your daughter and grandsons in a way that would hopefully do you proud. Though we have never met, I will never forget your sacrifice, your courage in the face of death and the gift of your daughter Marie, whom I promise to love always...God Bless You Sir.
