It is now 2015 Uncle Jimmy, and even though the years have come and gone your legacy still lives on! To say "Semper Fi" to you with the true meaning as it honorably applies to you from your earthly life on to your eternal resting place in Heaven along with your fellow soldiers who come before you, with you, and after you in Death,"Always Faithful" as it means, will always be what you are honored and remembered for and I do not take its meaning lightly because I know you never would have to your fellow Marine Brothers in combat !

I am and always will be so humble and proud to have you as my Uncle and Guardian Angel, which is why I chose to join the Armed Forces myself even know it was shorter than I intended on being enrolled in, just know I will always feel you were taken to soon for me to get to know you, and to soon for grandmama, momma,me, and bubba to keep reminding you of your worth, appreciation, and our love for you we still and always will be so proud of you and love you! With this being said until my last breath is drawn I will continue to remind others of your courage, strength, Loyalty and dedication to our freedom that you defended so bravely, and selflessly toward.Rest In Peace Uncle Jimmy today is your day.Happy Memorial Day with love!

So many times I think back on mom and grand moms stories of your bravery and courageous ways they knew your gentle kind heart while the world knew your selfless acts of kindness.Taking you too soon was very hard on us as your family but I chose to join as well sharing your ability to care for others who could not stand alone in the fight for freedom.Tears still fall for you but we understand it was your time to go be with grandpa in heaven until we meet in heaven fly high uncle Jimmie we are ok knowing God has you with grandma too now as our protective guardian angels! You are our number one soldier. love your niece......Alisha xoxoxoxo
  • Remembering An American Hero

Posted on 10/17/14 - by Curt Carter
Dear PFC Jimmie Ray Orr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

    With respect, Sir

    Curt Carter
