Evans, or "BenBow" , as I knew him, and I met over the phone, the line from the treatment bunker
to the comm bunker where I worked. At night he and I would talk and talk about stateside and home.
He and I talked for about three or four weeks before we met face to face in chow line. It surprised him
that I wasn't a brother. We laughed about an assumption and then continued our talks. My greatest
regret is that the transport arrived to take me home arrived early, and I didn't get to say goodby to
    a very good friend.

    Goodby my friend
