I knew Ron in High School. I was in Vietnam when I heard of Ron's death. He was a good person and fellow Marine. I remember back and we were young and just starting out in life. Ron served his country well as I know the hardships that went with being in Vietnam. God Bess Ron and his family

My name is Jerry Miller. I was in charge of the Rock July 31, 1969. We were experiencing 100MPH winds during a typhoon. Ron was struck from steel decking and thrown 30-ft. off the chopper pad along with a Sergeant. Doc Sheriff and I worked desperatly on Ron with CPR but the damage was to great. Ron died in my arms before choppers could arrive.
His death was a very unfortunate experience when it came by the hand of nature. We were under heavy motar attack nightly and Ron was always faithful to his call for action agaist the enemy. He died defending his post. God bless.
