My everlasting thanks for your noble and benevolent service,
I truly praise you Mr. Barnhart. Because of souls such as yourself, our nation is today free and proud. You answered the call of duty. You answered when your nation needed you most. And you selflessly gave her the epitome of sacrifice when you laid down your body in the forests of Quang Tri when the time came. You were the first to leave this world and set an example for the entire Marine corps and America. We shall never be able to repay you, but your name is forever engraved in our hearts. I have never met you, but I pray that one day I shall see you in God’s realm where you undoubtedly reside today. One can only aspire to attain your bravery and passion. May we all gain strength and confidence from your example. I give you my greatest adoration and respect.
    Thank you Sir.

The Wall of Faces

Brought to you by the organization that built The Wall, the Vietnam Veterans Virtual Memorial Wall is dedicated to honoring, remembering and sharing the legacies of all those who died in the Vietnam War. Here you can go beyond the names on The Wall to see the faces, share the stories and read the remembrances posted by friends, neighbors, classmates and family members.

All of these photos will be showcased in The Education Center at The Wall on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. To learn more about the effort to collect these photos and ensure their faces will never be forgotten, visit www.buildthecenter.org.
