  • The love we have for my Brother

Posted on 5/25/15 - by Cheryl Martin
I remember the times, when we were children that you did your best to protect me no matter what the situation. You guided me to always do the right thing and you made me feel safe. So many times in my adlult life I have felt your presence with me and in make the tough times easier.I don't have that safe feeling much anymore, only when I feel you near. I miss you so much Barry and I send you my love every day. Some how, now that Dad is gone, I hope you two have reunited and that when Mom passes you all three will surround each other with the love we had as a family. Until we see each other again. Your loving sister.

Dear CPL Carlton Barry Halcomb, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

    Curt Carter

Your absence is deeply felt, but your sacrifice is eternal. If I had known you I am certain you would have made me a better man and I think of you so often it seems as though we have roamed this earth together. I long to meet you, if not in this life, the next. All my love and respect, your nephew.
