  • Thank you Curt, dear friend...you will never be forgotten....

Curt, we are ever so thankful our paths crossed in medical school, and that we became such good friends .....we have a lot of good memories of good times together....could not believe you went to Vietnam and I was left at Memphis Naval Air Station....we know you were a great asset to your comrades in Vietnam...while I worked with corpsmen at the naval air station who also knew you and admired you.....we will never forget the day we found out that you and your comrades were shot down on your helicopter....it literally broke our hearts...we visited The Moving Vietnam Memorial Wall in your honor and memory this week...you gave the ultimate sacrifice, and we will never forget you....We have said lots of prayers...We will love you forever...Your friend, Dr. George McCrary and wife Mary Ann McCrary, Fayetteville, AR

He is buried at Arlington as is my Marine pilot roommate, LT Lester M. Kennedy. It has been many years, but still like yesterday to me in remembering both Curt and Les.

I just now discovered that my roommate at Great Lakes BOQ was killed in Vietnam. I am stunned!!! I went from flight training to the Great Lakes Naval Hospital for surgery in 1964, after an accident and Curt and I shared a 2 bdrm suite at the BOQ. I did not know he went to Vietnam. My roommate at Pensacola was a POW from 1965 to 1973 (Bill Tschudy), and other roommate LT L. M. Kennedy was killed in 1964 when his F8-U crashed in LA. RIP Dr. Curt!!!

The Wall of Faces

Brought to you by the organization that built The Wall, the Vietnam Veterans Virtual Memorial Wall is dedicated to honoring, remembering and sharing the legacies of all those who died in the Vietnam War. Here you can go beyond the names on The Wall to see the faces, share the stories and read the remembrances posted by friends, neighbors, classmates and family members.

All of these photos will be showcased in The Education Center at The Wall on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. To learn more about the effort to collect these photos and ensure their faces will never be forgotten, visit www.buildthecenter.org.
