    Dear Cpl Danny Gard,
Thank you for your service as an AFT CNE/WEAPONS/DECM Systems Technician. Today is the Corps' birthday, Semper Fi. Happy Veterans' Day. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I miss you like it was yesterday. Almost 70 now, retired with my wife on our small acreage in Minnesota. 2 boys with 6 grandkids, 3 boys and 3 girls. Pefect.
Still doing some hunting, we used to talk a lot about the wild places to hunt in Texas and Minnesota.
Met your family in DC @ a 262 reunion. Gave them the picture of us in our dress blues. They never saw you in Blues, so happy I could share that with them.
I think of you often. Rest in peace my friend

Danny, it's been over 40 years but still think of you often. I got shot down after you passed but managed to make it home with GODS help. Now have a daughter and 2 grandsons that you would love. I'll never forget you.

All the time we were in the 262 unit together you always told me your dream was to get home, meet a girl, buy a white corvette and go to college. Damn it, you would have been good at all of that!!!!!!! You don't know it but I met some of your family after I got home. Very suprising visit but nice. You didn't know , but after your mishap I was also shot down and wounded. The grace of God got me back home and I now have family and two grandsons " 3 and 4and 1/2 " who whip my butt wresling every Thanks giving. They turkeyfy me and attack. I could go on for days but am almost to the end of my space. I'll catch you later Danny. We'll get a white corvette and hit Rt 66
