  • I still miss you.

Bill and I were classmates and good friends at Loyola. We shared a friendship with a group of young men called the Rejects Five Plus One. We laughed together, fought together (Bill said I always found a fight and he finished it), played sports together, did a little drinking together and prayed together. Mostly we hung out and talked together. I have a lasting appreciation for Bill and the rest of our friends. I still pray for you Bill and miss your sense of humor. I often wonder what life would have held for you. I regret that you never received my last letter and that you died so far from home and the friends and family that loved you. Thank you Bill for all that you brought to my life and for your ultimate sacrifice. Dick Embacher

Bill was a few years older than me and a friend of my brothers. I rememberr him as being a friendly warmhearted soul. I am sure he fought braqvely and I am proud to have known him.

The Wall of Faces

Brought to you by the organization that built The Wall, the Vietnam Veterans Virtual Memorial Wall is dedicated to honoring, remembering and sharing the legacies of all those who died in the Vietnam War. Here you can go beyond the names on The Wall to see the faces, share the stories and read the remembrances posted by friends, neighbors, classmates and family members.

All of these photos will be showcased in The Education Center at The Wall on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. To learn more about the effort to collect these photos and ensure their faces will never be forgotten, visit www.buildthecenter.org.
