  • My Tribute to a Hero

Posted on 3/8/02 - by Andrew Jones
What is a hero? A hero is Joshua Atkins, a hero is someone who gave their life to the people they love and even the people they don't know. Joshua Atkins gave his life at war to save his home and his country. Josh may have lost his life but he kept his pride and love for this country. All the time our army is out and fighting for our lives and freedom and he went out there and helped save us all. I know one thing, even if I don't know Josh he will always be in my heart just like the rest of the American soldiers who gave their lives for me and all of you.

The Wall of Faces

Brought to you by the organization that built The Wall, the Vietnam Veterans Virtual Memorial Wall is dedicated to honoring, remembering and sharing the legacies of all those who died in the Vietnam War. Here you can go beyond the names on The Wall to see the faces, share the stories and read the remembrances posted by friends, neighbors, classmates and family members.

All of these photos will be showcased in The Education Center at The Wall on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. To learn more about the effort to collect these photos and ensure their faces will never be forgotten, visit www.buildthecenter.org.
