    Dear Ssgt Jose Figueroa,
    Thank you for your service as a Huey, UH-1 Helicopter Repairer. Yesterday was Labor Day, and we remember you all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

  • Ground Casualty

    SSGT Jose J. Figueroa was a UH-1 helicopter mechanic serving with A Company, 9th Aviation Battalion, 9th Infantry Division. On December 4, 1967, SSGT Figueroa was on a helicopter pad when he suffered a fractured skull after he was struck in the head by a helicopter rotor blade. Critically injured, he was taken to a U.S. medical facility where he expired six days later. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]

    I was almost 7 when he passed away but his memory will last in my mind forever. Thank you for you service, Padrino.

    I often dream and wonder how my life would have been with you in it. Growing up without you was hard. I love you and miss you Daddy until we meet again.
