    Dear Lcpl Billy De Vasier,
Thank you for your service as a Field Artillery Cannoneer. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

  • Will Never Forget You

I was with you the night you died. We were kids and neither of us could believe what was happening. You told me you weren't going to make it. I told you to hang in there everything would be ok. It didn't go that way! Sgt. Ryerson and I went to Dong Ha the next day to identify you. The Identification card you had on you did not match your dog tags. It was an awful day for me, but nothing like the days ahead for your family and friends back home. I think of you often and wonder where all of us would have been without the war. You are in our hearts and minds forever. Thank you, Billy. I am so sorry for you, your family, and friends but forever grateful for your commitment, dedication and sacrifice. Semper Fi.
