I am a Vietnam era veteran and recently went to the VA ER and was misdiagnosed and am now disabled as a result of the misdiagnosis and cannot work now to support my family. Do I have any recourse?
Marianne in Brooklyn, NY on Mar 18, 2011:

1st Lt. Kenneth S. Dee and I were married on R & R in Hawaii on December 6th, 1969. Kenneth returned to Vietnam looking forward to starting our life in another 6 months when he returned to the states. On March 3rd, 1970 two officers came to my house and informed me that Kenneth had been killed in action. 41 years later I have not forgotten, nor will I ever forget.
James in Bainbridge Island, , WA on Mar 18, 2011:

My stepfather, Dr.James Stone, was a Korean vet, never received the welcome home wagon either. Why don't you team up with the forgotten Korean vets and combine your efforts? I know this is about the Nam soldiers but your Korean vet brothers were forgotten as well. This could be a day to remember both the Vietnam and Korean vets, all of the men and woman who served in these wars are heros. Honor.

Jan in Arlington Heights, IL on Mar 13, 2011:

Our deep appreciation for all who serve and have served in our military. We are aware that so many who have served and are now back among us are not well served among us, many unemployed and unacknowledged. In their honor remember a young neighbor of ours whose name was Kurtz. He served in Viet Nam, came back, told his story, and when he dispaired of his life, he took it, a veteran of our wars.
