Father's Day (2011)

Father's Day Rose Remembrance
June 19, 2011

Jan C. Scruggs
Founder and President of VVMF

Tom Kiernan
President of the National Parks Conservation Association

Bonnie Carroll
President & Founder of Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors

Two soldiers, one of them LCDR Christopher V. Phan, carried the wreath that was in memory of the fathers who died in America's current conflicts.

A crowd followed as the two men carried the wreath to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

The two saluted, the first of many that paid their respects.

Jan C. Scruggs laid a flower for each of the fathers who were on The Wall.

A school group passing by on a field trip stopped to lay flowers down.

Roses of red, symbolizing those killed in action, yellow, for those missing in action, and white, for those recently fallen in combat, are attached to written remembrances made out to names inscribed on the Wall.
